Cricket Comes Home

Pakistan is a country with many blessings, its beauty is undeniable, its natural resources are abundant, its human resources are extraordinary. In spite of having an amazing talent in Pakistan, it has yet to be discovered because there are not many platforms for every talent but luckily athletes of cricket can be found hitting it big. Cricket being an English sport it has too much influence in the sub-continent given the fact that sub-continent was ruled by the British. Moreover, Pakistan's prime minister is also a Worldcup winning cricketer.

Pakistan's cricket team is considered dangerous and unpredictable and yet never fails to be in controversies. Whenever Pakistan's cricket team is at its best, being unpredictable some scandal happens, which in result causes star players to get banned. Still, Pakistan never forgets to amaze by coming up with new star players in just one or two seasons. There are many management problems for the cricket team in Pakistan.

Dilemma of Terror 

Cricket is the most favorite sport of country but a few years back cricket was in the dilemma of being never coming back to the country because of the curse of terrorism, it not only destroyed the world opinion towards Pakistan but also its economy, sports, and culture.

In March of 2009, the Srilankan cricket team was on tour in Pakistan and their convey en route to the stadium in Lahore got attacked by terrorist militants, fortunately, players bus got away but major injuries were inflicted to the cricket team.

 After that, lash from the whole world started and obviously, international politics was there to undermine Pakistan's stakes. International cricket was banned in Pakistan. Pakistan made Dubai its home ground to carry out international matches. Revenue from cricket was cut too short which affected the economy. The ground of cricket which was laid in since winning of World cup of 1992 was torn apart. In short, activities around international cricket left Pakistan.

Steps to Conquer Home Ground   

 Steps were taken by ISPR in 2014, which sequels the end of the extremity of terrorism, and Pakistan Super League was founded in 2015.

 Its first few seasons were held in Dubai, in 2017 PSL finals were held in Lahore star players were reluctant to play in Pakistan, 2018 was also a good year for Pakistan cricket as few matches were played in Pakistan of PSL including international star players.

The label of the country with terrorism was torn in 2017 whole world was applauding the efforts against terrorism made by Pakistan, peace of the whole region was in a good direction. The last season of PSL was a success in 2019, this success gave enough ground to Pakistan for the demand of international matches in Pakistan, after the long diplomacy by PCB, Pakistan was able to achieve bringing cricket home. 

Cricket Comes Home

Now, Pakistan invited Bangladesh for test series in 2020 which is being held in Rawalpindi and revival of cricket has started, this series was a success crowd was there to show support.

After this international series, PSL's latest season of 2020 will start in Pakistan and all matches including international star players will be hosted by Pakistan, and hence CRICKET COMES HOME Pakistan seemed to be pretty confident to bring more international series soon.

 Cricket stadiums that were closed are opening for international matches, the economy has started to feel stronger, confidence and passions are high for cricket players and upcoming players have high motivation to prove it all to the world.
